Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Axe Throwing?

Axe throwing is a sport that involves competitors throwing an axe at a target, trying to get as close as they can to the bullseye. At Enid Axe you and your friends will spend 1 to 1.5 hours learning, practicing, and then finally squaring off toe to toe in a group tournament that will result in the crowning of an Axe Throwing Champion. Enid Axe Throwing sessions are run by trained experts who will show you how to safely handle an axe and chuck it with accuracy while giving you plenty of tips along the way.

  • Is Axe Throwing Safe?

Safety is our #1 priority. We operate a very controlled environment and each guest who enters must go through our safety briefing and training session before they are allowed to participate. If any participants in the throwing lanes are not following the rules, we reserve the right to ask that guest to leave with no refund.

  • Is There an Age Limit?

Anyone is welcome to enter the facility and throw axes. Anyone 18 years of age and younger will need to have a parent/guardian present. All participants under the age of 19 must have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian.

  • What Should I Wear?

Throwers MUST wear closed-toed shoes and wear comfortable clothes. Avoid wearing loose/baggy clothing and accessories. Enid Axe recommends removing rings from fingers.

  • How Many People Can Participate?

As many as the facility can handle! Large groups are best served by reserving lanes online. This allows Enid Axe the ability to ensure we have lanes available for your group.

  • Can We Just Hang Out? Do We Have to Be Throwing the Entire Time?

Absolutely! Enjoy the environment! Hang out and cheer on the other axe throwers. Play pool or take a trip in one of our massage chairs.

  • Can I Bring My Own Food & Drink?

You are welcome to bring in small snacks and a few drinks. Enid Axe will provide alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks as well as a large selection of snacks.

  • Will Someone Teach Me How to Throw?

You will be with an instructor for as long as you need training. The first half an hour of your experience is typically spent learning the safety rules and procedures of how to handle an axe. With proper instruction, practice and by following our guided procedures, you will be able to safely throw an axe by the end of your session.

  • Do I have to Make a Reservation?

Reservations are the best way to ensure you will have a lane for the time you want. If you are not good at planning or have a whim to just chunk an axe, come on in. We will be happy to get you in a lane and make sure you have fun. Weekends and evenings are usually booked out a few weeks in advance.

  • Will I be Paired with Others?

Only if you want to. Enid Axe is one of the largest axe throwing facilities in the state, with 20 individual lanes allowing us to provide every group with their own lanes. Some of the lanes are designed for larger groups. No more than 4 participants per lane. We even have 4 lanes that can accommodate larger private groups. This is great for team building or for large groups of people.

  • Can I Reserve the Entire Facility?

If you have a corporate event or a large celebration, Enid Axe wants to host you. Reach out to us and we will be happy to reserve the entire facility for you.

  • Are There Competitions?

Yes!  We have held a variety of leagues and tournaments in the past. Currently, we are preparing for a whole slew of tournaments themed around our projection targets. They'll be coming soon, so you'd better sharpen your skills and your axe!

  • Can I Bring My Own Axe?

Enid Axe provides multiple types of axes for everyone to use. If you have a favorite hatchet you would like to use, you are welcome to bring it in and let the experts at Enid Axe inspect the axe prior to use.

  • Do You Allow Other Things to Be Thrown?

Sticking things in targets is fun. Enid Axe will have a large supply of alternate objects to throw at targets. You will get to fulfill that inner ninja from your childhood.

  • What Other Types of Entertainment Do You Have?

Enid Axe is way more than just axe throwing. Play pool, shuffleboard, ping pong, corn hole, and a plethora of other games.
